This delicious butter head type won over our staff in our 2015 lettuce trials. The tender and mild leaves melt in your mouth, truly buttery. A loose leaf type lettuce, with brilliant bright green foliage. Tasty, Tasty, Tasty!

What are the pros? Texture, large leaves, wraps

What are the cons? Delicate

Review:

This lettuce isn't my favorite but it is truly the best lettuce I've ever used for lettuce wraps, as other reviewers have mentioned. I use it in salads mixed with other stuff but it's really best for wraps. The leaves don't 'snap' as easily as with other lettuces. They get very large but stay malleable and thin, allowing you to create burrito-sized lettuce wraps. Doesn't store as well as my other butterhead or cos lettuces. I like the flavor on some days but not others. I enjoyed them harvested as baby greens. The flavor reminds me of dandelion a bit. In the garden, they get unruly if you don't pluck them often or harvest the whole thing. Big, floppy leaves. Kind of weak as seedlings in cells but took off once put in the soil. If you let the plant get too big and don't harvest enough, the leaves can spill onto the soil and start decaying.

Review:

I loved this lettuce. I grew it last year in containers and it grew remarkably well. Can't wait to try again this year. Delicate leaves yet flavorful.

These is the best lettuce I've found for lettuce wraps. It's really delicate and tender yet holds up reasonably well in a wrap. Easy to grow also.
