This fabulously novel variegated cockscomb from antiquity has been brought back from obscurity! This color was described as a beautiful and unusual floral oddity in The Country Gentleman’s Magazine a British periodical from 1874. Other than this mention, there is no record of this vibrantly bi-colored celosia, which is a wonder, as the dueling tones are a playful a riot of color. Alien like combs sit atop three foot tall plants. We expect this one of a kind wierdo to be warmly embraced by gardeners and floral designers! Lovely 4”-6” flowers are a joy!

Review:

These were some of the most interesting plants in the garden this past year! Everyone stopped to stare at them and couldn't believe what they were seeing.

What are the pros? Vibrant colors.

What are the cons? Tend to fall over.

Review:

I planted these around the gate area of my garden, not knowing what to expect. They quickly became a favorite of mine! Amazing colors, shape, and textures. The bees absolutely loved them. I will definitely be getting more of this flower. My only complaint, and why I only gave 4 stars for easy to grow, is that as they grew taller, they tended to fall over without some sort of support. The stalks appear to be pretty beefy. It must be the pure weight of the flower!
