What are the pros? Flavors, Colors, Compact Size

What are the cons? Bland when immature.

Review:

I grew half the peppers in the catalog last year and this was my clear favorite. The flavor is excellent: sweet and aromatic, but you must wait until the peppers fully mature; they are very bland in immature stages. Wait until they are red and orange. I loved watching these peppers grow and their color change as they matured. They aren't just gorgeous in the purple stage they also turn yellow, orange, red with beautiful streaking and different color patterns when in between colors. I think they were also green after purple and before yellow but I can't remember clearly. Anyways the thick walled peppers give a decent amount of food for their small size and they were my favorite for snacking raw in the garden. These plants did not grow nearly as large as other peppers in my garden but were still productive and early producers in my Ohio garden. I will plant them much denser this year with as little as 8 inches between plants. The 18 inches I gave them last year was excessive.

What are the pros? Pretty color

What are the cons? Flavor

Review:

The only thing this pepper has going for it is it's looks- very pretty. I planted 3 of these plants; all 3 had good production but all peppers were flavorless and odorless. I waited till they turned from purple to a deep red and still disappointing. I live in south Louisiana with high temps and high humidity... maybe these do better in cooler climate???

What are the pros? Easily grown

What are the cons? Long wait to maturity

Review:

I was at first disappointed in this pepoer. The purple color is nice but the taste was...lacking depth. We ate a couple and kind of just let the plant go and forgot about it. Later on I was harvesting on a different variety and I was surprised to find several very red, pointy pepoers. They were sweet and meaty with very thick walls. The red color was intense! We chopped them and put them in the freezer with the other peppers and they perform every bit as well as our favorite California Wonder. I will not only grow these again, I will make them a regular in my garden from niw on.

What are the pros? Productive, tasty, easy

What are the cons? None

Review:

This beautiful little plant deserves a big shout-out! Compact and modest looking, but once it gets going there's no stopping it. Very hard working, blooms come in very quick succession and the plant fills with pale green fruit that soon mature to purple. Very fruity, rich taste, 2-3 bites per pepper, certainly not tiny. Those that made it into the house were perfect salad companions. It certainly won me over, and has more than earned its place in next year's lineup! The plants are small, so I am considering starting 3 seeds in one pot and then planting them out as a bundle - we'll see how that goes...

What are the pros? Easy to grow and a big produce

What are the cons? They have a bitter taste

Review:

These are fun to grow and the produce a lot of peppers but they tasted bitter. It’s probably something I did. I grew them in pots and used worm castings. The color on the inside is kind of off-putting because it is a tan color.
