What are the pros? stops soil erosion pests

What are the cons? Spacing at 1 ft is TOO CLOSE.

Review:

I started yarrow about 9 months ago. Seedlings were slow to take off (like mpst perennials), but not particularly fragile for seedlings. One seedling never grew beyond 5 inches, in an undesirable location (6 inches from house foundation, in afternoon sun). The rest got huge- a foot wide. I'd spaced them a foot apart, which, was too close- i transplanted 2 last week. A couple sprouted flower stalks this year - werent tall but i didnt really expect flowering the 1st year. Ive had yarrow tea- ace -- and used a few yarrow leaves in a mulch on a tropical plant. But an unexpected thing i notice is the foliage keeps soil from running off. If you have a slope or edge you need runoff controlled, this would do it.
