Beautiful 8”, good-sized roots are extra-smooth, long and blunt-ended. A deep orange color with a fine carrot flavor makes this variety popular in the markets of Europe. Slender roots tend to stay tender and not get woody. A perfect variety for gourmet cooks and upscale markets.

What are the pros? Grew well...no problems there.

What are the cons? Get soft quickly after harvest

Review:

An okay carrot and at first we liked them because they weren't too crunchy, but we found they got soft very quickly after harvesting, even in the fridge. I don't think they would do well in a root cellar. Planning to try a different variety this season.

What are the pros? Grows in clay soil! Delicious!

What are the cons? None

Review:

I'm not a fan of carrots, but this variety changed my mind. Very delicious compared to any other carrot I've ever tried to grow. Also, didn't seem to mind our compacted clay, although it would probably grow bigger in looser soil. Some of the seeds must have drifted in the wind when planting because I found them growing like a weed in very random places (ie: beneath pebble pathway, another near a tree, etc), but they stayed straight. Will absolutely grow these again...need MORE seed!

Review:

I have grown these for 4 years now in Eastern Wahington. Never get woody, and don't develop excessive amounts of roots when left in the ground. Very sweet & tender. Great for using fresh, for drying, freezing, or pickling. Super smooth skins, I don't peel prior to any processing.

Review:

This is the best orange carrot I grew this year -- I grew four different kinds. The taste is superb, and they don't taper -- they are blunt, which I like because it is both easier to peel and cuts down on peeling because you get more usable carrot per plant, if that makes any sense. Great carrot.
