90 days- Sturdy plants reach three feet or more. Yields lots of peppers late in the season. The 3- to 5-inch fruits are hot! Gradually ripen from green to a deep chocolate brown, with lots of intermediate shades in the process-very pretty in the late-season garden! A great seasoning- or drying type.

What are the pros? Flavor, high yield.

What are the cons? Not super easy to germinate.

Review:

Love this pepper. Not real hot, mild enough for lots of uses. Huge yields over a long time (Missouri.) A couple plants are past 5ft high, and grown organic in Earth tainers.. Dries easily for keeping. Have not had luck yet keeping this plant alive thru a winter tho, but the yield from first-year plants is terrific anyway.

Review:

We tried this pepper as one of our experiments last year and wasn't sure what to expect. It came pretty late in the season but so did all of our peppers last year because of the weird weather. This pepper was well worth the wait! The flavor is awesome! I loved the size and shape of these and the nice deep chocolate color. We grow a lot of different varieties of peppers and after trying several of them in Harissa sauce this one turned out to be my favorite. Just the right amount of heat for me, these averaged somewhere around a cayenne heat . Good complex flavor. These were also very popular among our hot pepper fans at the market and we had people calling us in the winter to see if we would grow them again. We grew them in black plastic mulch and barely got them in before the freeze at 7000 feet. If we have a warmer year next year I'm sure they will come earlier.

Review:

Chili fans would love this pepper. great color when it ripens, fantastic front and back end heat. I'm averaging 10-15 mintues of heat after i eat them. Great in stir fry's, salsa, etc..The plants got about 3-4 feet tall and produced lots of fruit (8-10 per plant). If we hadn't of had such a cool/wet summer, I think they would have grown faster and produced more.
