60-80 days. The Greek tomato that was introduced to the USA in the 1950's by Glecklers Seedsmen of Ohio. It is a popular large, red uniform fruit with excellent flavor, high yields and disease resistance. An early variety perfect for home or market; keeps well.

What are the pros? very productive

What are the cons? thick skin

Review:

This was a fabulous all around tomato in NJ. Very productive, consistently all summer. Beautiful fruits, no major disease issues. Pumped out lots of very pretty, and tasty tomatoes, full flavored, not bland.

What are the pros? Stays fresh after picking

What are the cons? None

Review:

This is one of my favorite - easy to start from seed, reliable production, and the tomatoes have a great shelf-life once picked (something I really appreciate as it can be a week or so from picking before I can get them ready to can). Solid tomato flavor.

What are the pros? nice uniform shape

What are the cons? seedy, plain

Review:

This tomato is a tomato. It's round, it's red. The flavor is OK. It was a little seedy for my preference. I had no issues with the plant, at all. The fruit set nicely and they were all pretty much uniform in size and appearance and ripened very nicely on the vines. Out of all the wonderful tomato choices out there, I'm going to go ahead and donate the rest of the seeds and try something else next year.

What are the pros? Excellent Flavor

What are the cons? Blossom End Rot

Review:

This is a really good all around tomato. It has excellent flavor, good texture but a thicker skin than many other tomatoes. This is a growing advantage as it doesn't damage easily but some people are put off by it. If you aren't particular about this (I'm not), it is an excellent tomato. It has one downside that I believe is very specific to my area. It is susceptible to blossom-end rot. I live on a mesa in San Diego with high clay soil. Even when planted in a raised bed with well fertilized and amended soil, I still lose a few of the fruit to the disease. I generally still get a good yield anyway so I will grow it again. The other 7 varieties I have grown next to it have had no problem however (White Queen, Carbon, Costoluto Genovese, Aunt Ruby's German Green, Yellow Pear, Tess's Land Race, Pork Chop). I have added gypsum to the soil and it has not helped. A leaf spray might do something but I have to admit that I am too lazy to bother with that.

What are the pros?

What are the cons?

Review:

This is the first year we grew it, in AZ at 4,000 ft, in a few inches of amended soil over unmodified desert dirt in our greenhouse. It did surprisingly well and is LOADED with tomatoes now. Unfortunately it will probably freeze in the greenhouse soon. I already took cuttings to overwinter. We got a late start this year, but will be ready next spring.
