Unbelievable production of small, reddish-chocolate colored, grape-shaped tomatoes. These have the sweet, earthy flavor of the classic ‘black’ types, but packed into a small package. Seed originally from a Chinese commercial vendor.

What are the cons? not great taste -mealy texture

Review:

Not good for salad, lealy texture probably ok for cooking but then you have a lot of skin for small amt of flesh

What are the pros? Easy to grow, tasty

What are the cons? Need more space than you think

Review:

2017 is the first year we are growing these but definitely saving seed for next year. The taste of these smallish tomatoes is just astounding. They do have a thicker skin as other people note but that seems to make them a bit more resilient to possible concerns. I have only found one fruit with a hole in it from something and only had 2 fruits suffer from blossom end rot. We initially planted these in 3-gallon plant bags and had issues with keeping them watered enough. We ended up setting those bags in 5-gallon plant bags with a layer of vermiculite to keep moisture in. This seems to have saved the plants when it got really hot. Next year though will just start with larger bags or pots. We started 7 plants to transplant 4 ourselves and gave away 3. The ones we gave away were grown on balconies and such and doing very well so these are very versatile tomatoes. They do tend to get taller rather than bushier so may use bamboo instead of cages next year.

What are the cons? None.

Review:

This is one of my most popular tomato plants. We've planted this two years in a row and I just started some for 2016. We love these tomatoes in our house and people who've received these plants from me in the past are asking for more this year. It's got a great flavor in a small package. Highly recommended.

What are the pros? very tasty

What are the cons? none

Review:

Last summer my kids and I could not get enough of these sweet little gems. My plant did not get very big compared to other tomato plants but it was a great little producer. I had about 15 tomato plants and this was our favorite, none of these made it to the farmers market! I think this year we will try to plant 3 of these. They are not too big so they are perfect to add to picnic or lunchbox.

What are the pros? Handle the heat

What are the cons? small? lol

Review:

I grew these for the first time this year. They are a small little guy, but they are prolific, they handle the heat, and they taste really good! They were one of the only plants to produce through the 105 heat, they slowed way down, but they did better than any other, and they also bounced back the quickest and continued producing a ton of tomatoes as soon as the temps dropped again.
