80 days. This beautiful heirloom comes from Turkey. The 3” round fruit are best cooked when they are green to light orange. This variety has very sweet and flavorful flesh. It imparts a strong, rich flavor to any dish. The small plants yield well. This variety is great for ethnic markets. Very ornamental-looking.

What are the pros? nice color, great in casserole

What are the cons? None

Review:

Planted 3 varieties of eggplant. Mitoyo, Hansel and Turkish. Mitoyo, birds took care of. Turkish still producing strong. Hansel attracting most of the bugs. We do not use pesticides or herbicides. We are enjoying the Turkish eggplant in multiple casserole dishes. No major problems or complaints. On the list again for next year.

What are the pros? excellent flavor

What are the cons? didn't like 100 degree days

Review:

Neat little plants, ours were planted in two different gardens. one group of plants didn't do well at all. they were in my home garden full sun and a brutally hot summer. one of the six remained a sad little stick I overlooked when I removed the others. The other group were sprinkled in the local middle school garden project. Those plants grew huge and has produced consistently. Our favorite thing to do with them is to make capinata with them. If I can get them in early enough next year i'll definitely plant them, hopefully our brutal 7a sun isn't quiet a bad at the home garden next year. I noticed the tiny sad leafless stick I forgot to remove from the home garden. last week I noticed it has grown 11 inches put off two branches and was flowering so who knows I might get some of these at home too! I sure hope so.

What are the cons? Bugs tore up this variety

Review:

I grew 4 types of small eggplant last year. It seemed like the bugs targeted this variety all summer. Out of 100 plants this one was targeted and took a beating from the bugs. I didn't have any luck wit this variety. In its defense I started late on the eggplants & I didn't use any bug spray to prevent bugs. Didn't grow this variety this year.

What are the pros? Very prolific

What are the cons? Taste

Review:

I shared this eggplant with neighbors and not even I liked it enough to grow it again next year. It looks beautiful, but the taste I can do without.

Review:

Extremely productive, I literally had bags of fruit from two plants. Slightly bitter, yes, but also sweet. Big, vigorous plants needed support.
