Tomato Seeds,
Fumo

The Fumo is a sweet, heart-shaped tomato from southern Italy. It made its way to Racine, Wisconsin, in 1920 when Lorenzo Fumo emigrated from his home in Marano Principato, in the Calabria region. Gardener and seed saver John LaBrasca was exploring a family member’s garden one day and was bowled over by the tomato’s sweet flavor. He began growing the variety, and a few years ago he shared the seeds with us, asking that we name it for Mr. Fumo. We are thrilled to offer it for the first time in 2027.
