About Bean Seeds, Fava

(Vicia faba) This Mediterranean native is quite different from ordinary beans, and it prefers cool weather and tolerates frost. Settlers brought fava beans to America, and they were once very popular. But in the 1800s, they fell out of favor as they proved a bit too heat sensitive for hot, dry summer locations.
