45-75 days to maturity. The answer to any Southern gardeners cauliflower woes! PUSA Meghna quickly produces perfect tight white heads in as short as 45 days in some climates. This is the ideal choice for those Southern gardeners looking to squeeze in a late winter/early Spring harvest before the brutal heat sets in. We direct seeded a crop in our garden May 21, 2016 and it produced heads in 45 days!

What are the pros? The taste was phenomenal!

What are the cons? Slow to start

Review:

Fall Garden 2017 - Pusa Meghna Cauliflower was off to a slow start in the 6-packs I started them in (mid-August). After they came up their growth almost seemed stunted (could of been the heat). After almost 5 weeks in the 6 packs I planted them into the garden rich soil along with a shade cloth (which normally only takes 3 weeks). They were very small and growth was slow in the beginning. After a period of time they took off and before you know it they had a small white button in the center.....100% DELICIOUS not long after that! I looked for the seed again and it seems to have vanished at Baker Creek. Too bad....it was the shortest number of days I've ever grown cauliflower and the most delicious. I have a few seeds left from the fall season....guess what I'll be doing before to much longer???

What are the pros? Quick

What are the cons? Tiny heads. Bolts quickly.

Review:

This either bolted immediately or produced tiny heads quickly. The germination rate and seedling vigor were not great either. I'm going to give this variety another try next year because all the cauliflower did somewhat poorly this year.

What are the pros? fast, and perhaps perennial

What are the cons? small

Review:

I grew some more and put them in the garden. I left the original ones in their pots. They set seeds and are now (Sep 1) producing new basal growths. I think they have the potential for being perennial.

Review:

I sowed the seeds in pots mid May. I haven't transplanted them into the garden yet, and here they are in late June, still in pots, with little white heads. I will start again and make sure they get into the garden this time.
