50% of sales this week benefit Hurricane Melissa relief efforts
Jamaica has been ravaged by Hurricane Melissa, a catastrophic Category 5 storm — the most powerful in the island's history. This relentless hurricane tore through homes, destroyed farms, and left entire communities in devastation. Once-lush, fertile fields now lie barren, stripped of their crops and hope. Countless families are left with nothing, searching for food, clean water, and shelter as they face unimaginable loss and uncertainty.
At Baker Creek Heirloom Seed Co., we feel a deep connection to Jamaica. For years, we've worked with a small team there on seed production, research, and media projects. Thankfully, our team members — based mostly in Kingston and Portland Parish — are safe. They're already helping their neighbors by sharing food and supplies, and we want to do even more to support their efforts and the wider recovery across the island.
From Monday, November 3, through Friday, November 7, we'll be donating 50% of our daily sales to trusted relief organizations working directly in Jamaica and the Caribbean. Every seed order this week helps provide meals, clean water, shelter, and recovery resources for those in urgent need.

Here's where the funds will go each day:
Monday, November 3 – World Central Kitchen Provides hot meals and clean water after disasters.
Tuesday, November 4 – ADRA International Delivers emergency aid and helps rebuild communities, farms, and infrastructure.
Wednesday, November 5 – World Help Supports food, shelter, and education for families in need.
Thursday, November 6 – Jamaica Red Cross Leads local disaster response and first-aid efforts across the island.
Friday, November 7 – The Salvation Army (Caribbean Territory) Offers shelter, meals, and long-term community care.
Please also consider donating directly to these and other humanitarian organizations working throughout Jamaica and the Caribbean. Every contribution — big or small — helps bring relief, stability, and hope to those rebuilding their lives after this devastating storm.
We invite you to order seeds this week and be part of this shared effort to bring help and healing to our Jamaican and Caribbean friends. Every purchase and every donation makes a difference.
Please keep these wonderful people in your prayers as they recover and rebuild.
Thank you for your compassion, generosity, and partnership in helping restore lives, farms, and communities.
Blessings from all of us at Baker Creek.
