CRITERIA
Performances will be judged by a panel chosen by Baker Creek, on the following criteria:
- Quality of performance,
- Style and content of music,
- Period costume worn
- Stage Presentation
PRIZES
- 1st Place: $800
- 2nd Place: $500
- 3rd Place: $300
Contest Rules
- All music and vocals must go through the event's on-stage sound system.
- Plug-in acoustic instruments and electric bass are allowed.
- No prerecorded music permitted.
- Cover music must be pre-1926 or in the public domain (free of copyright).
- Original music is welcome but must reflect family-friendly and old-fashioned values. - Submit lyrics with your entry.
- Not open to: - Baker Creek’s contracted musicians (past or present) - Baker Creek employees or their families
- Performance length: 3.5 minutes or less. Only one song allowed unless it’s a continuous medley.
- Contestants may only enter one act.
- Previous first-place winners may re-enter after 3 years.
- Only contest participants allowed on stage.
- Modest clothing required – no writing or logos. Old-time attire is preferred.
- Sign-up closes at 12:00 PM (noon) on contest day. No exceptions. Please arrive early.

Additional Info
- All band members must sign a Musician's Agreement Form at sign-up.
- Questions? Denise Wynn will be at the stage to assist.
- First-place winners may be invited to perform at a future Baker Creek event.
- Professional entertainers are asked not to enter. We are seeking new talent!
- By entering, participants agree to allow all forms of photography, video, and audio recording by Baker Creek, with no compensation.

RULES

- Only one song is allowed unless it is a continuous-play medley.
- Participants can only enter the contest as a member of one act.
- Previous first-place winners are not eligible to enter until three years after their last win. (Includes solo acts and all members of any winning bands.)
- Only participants in the music contest are allowed on the stage at any time.
Clothing shall be modest and contain no writing. (Old-time clothing is preferred.) - Contestants must sign up by noon Sunday, May 12 at the Opry Stage. No exceptions! We are expecting big crowds! Come early so you don't miss out!!
- Every band member will be required to sign a musician’s agreement form prior to the contest. A copy of the form will be provided with the sign-up sheet. Denise Wynn will be in the stage area to answer any questions.
- First-place winner could possibly be hired to play in the future at a Baker Creek festival!
- We ask that professional entertainers not enter the contest. We are looking for new talent!
- Participants agree to all forms of photography, video, and audio recordings conducted by Baker Creek and give permission for the company to use without compensation.
