These dahlia-type blooms are incredibly double and tightly packed with brilliant green petals. Large plants are believed to be sturdier and more robust than "Envy," our previous favorite for green-flowered zinnias.

Queen Lime zinnia is a unique heirloom variety that thrives in full sun, growing up to 25 inches tall. It grows best in rich soil and moderate moisture. Cut frequently or remove spent flowers for the highest production.
When to Grow
Plant Queen Lime zinnia seeds after the last frost when the soil has warmed to at least 70 F. In most areas, this means planting in late spring. For earlier blooms, seeds can be started indoors for about 4 weeks before transplanting them outdoors.
How to Sow and Plant
Sow seeds directly in a sunny location about 1/4 inch deep. Space plants 9-12 inches apart to ensure good airflow and to minimize disease. If sowing indoors, use seed trays or small pots and maintain a warm environment, ideally 75-80 F. Use biodegradable pots or other means to minimize root disturbance when transplanting​.
How to Grow
Queen Lime zinnias require full sunlight and moderate moisture. Water them regularly, especially during dry spells, but allow the soil to dry between waterings to prevent root rot. Adding compost or balanced fertilizer can boost growth and flowering. Deadheading spent blooms will extend the flowering season, keeping your garden colorful even into fall.

- Clip off the flowerhead and place it in a paper bag or other container.
- Working over the top of another clean, opened container, rub the flowerheads between the palms to break them apart.
