The big, bright red zinnia—truly majestic—grows up to 5” across, being double and rich red in color. This giant beauty is hard to beat and great as a cut flower.

What are the pros? Love it!

What are the cons? None

Review:

I grew meteor and polar bear zinnias. They are impressive! We have people stop on the road and ask what they are. I did have to stake them. They do require occasional feeding. They are heavy bloomers and blooms are everything from crimson to fushia.

What are the pros? Beautiful, easy to grow

What are the cons? None

Review:

I grew these for the first time last year in my front yard. Gorgeous blooms that keep going from midsummer until frost! In full sun and rich soil mine grew to 4-5 feet. Plant stems stayed upright despite heavy blooms (except one plant that was knocked over by heavy winds toward the end of the season). I grew them with white nicotiana and Senorita zinnias (both from Baker Creek) and the colors were amazing together. I got lots of compliments from neighbors passing by. These make a great cut flower also, blooms lasted a long time indoors compared to the Senoritas.

What are the pros? Vibrant, Eye-Catching, Robust

What are the cons? None

Review:

These zinnias grew beautifully alongside my tomatoes, carrots, and onions. Their colour is rich and eye-catching. Without exception, everyone who visited my garden this summer commented on them and wanted to know what they were called. Germination rate was high, and as long as the spent blooms are removed, these zinnias just keep coming! I will purchase these seeds again, for myself and as gifts for friends.

What are the pros? Color, Size

Review:

Very happy with my Meteor zinnias. The color is dramatic and they are so very striking when they bloom in a large, beehive shape, 4-5" across. Great cut flowers. Will make gorgeous centerpieces for fall!

What are the pros? Beautiful clear red colors

What are the cons? Slugs and snails

Review:

What a beauty! Meteor was so easy to grow, and delivered gorgeous, large, clear dark red flowers all summer. The unfurling petals have a white undertone so that the ripening buds are almost as beautiful as the full blooming flowers. The more you take for cut flowers, the more will bloom profusely throughout the summer and well into fall. I planted 15 together in a large stone urn--it is a marvelous mass planting.
