Dear Gardening Friends,

Like you, we are heartsick over the devastation wrought by Hurricane Helene in the Southeastern U.S. just two weeks ago, and we are keeping the people of Florida in our prayers as Hurricane Milton churns toward the coast with terrifying fury.

We are also heartened by the countless stories of kindness, generosity, and resilience in hard-hit places like Western North Carolina, as neighbors and strangers alike work together with government and relief agencies to search for those still missing, mourn those who lost their lives, and help communities begin to piece their lives back together.

Recovery from such disasters is measured in months and years – not days – and we know it will take a sustained, collective effort.

How can you help?

**Baker Creek is donating the proceeds of all seed sales on Thursday, October 10, 2024, toWorld Help. The humanitarian agency is mobilized in North Carolina and elsewhere to provide food and other basic supplies to hurricane survivors. **

**On Friday, October 11, Baker Creek will donateall seed sales to organizations providing hurricane relief, including MANNA FoodBank, the sole food bank serving Western North Carolina and the Qualla Boundary (home to the Eastern Band of the Cherokee Indians), as well as other emergency response efforts in Florida and the Southeast. **

This fundraiser ends at 11:59 p.m. Friday, October 11, 2024.
