FAQ
How long does it take to see fruit after planting?
Abashi bitter melon is typically ready about 90 to 110 days after sowing, with the first fruits around 100 days. Consistent warmth, sun, and support from a trellis can encourage faster growth and higher yields.
Do I need a trellis to grow Abashi bitter melon?
Yes, a trellis or vertical support is highly recommended. Vines can grow vigorously, and supporting them off the ground improves air circulation and makes harvesting easier.
Can I grow Abashi bitter melon in containers?
Yes, choose a container at least 5 gallons in size with good drainage. Use rich potting soil, place the container in full sun, and install a trellis to manage vine growth efficiently.
