Tomato Seeds,
Blue Beauty
Description
(Solanum lycopersicum). This recent Brad Gates introduction was selected from a cross between ‘Beauty King’ and a blue tomato. Fruit is a modest beefsteak-type slicer, weighing up to 8 ounces, and the flavor is as good as its outstanding antioxidant content! Gorgeous, deep blue-black shoulders make this unique among slicing types. Excellent potential for market, as the fruit holds well on the vine. Sunburn and crack resistance are a welcome bonus.
Growing Tips: Blue Beauty tomatoes thrive in full sun with well-draining, fertile soil with a slightly acidic to neutral pH. Water deeply but allow the soil to dry slightly between waterings to avoid root rot. As an indeterminate variety, these plants grow tall and will need staking or caging to support the vines and their medium-sized fruits.
