Description
(Solanum tuberosum). Your order contains 10 micro tubers. This royal tuber was selected for its deep purple color, high yield, and delicious flavor, and the results are exceptional! Colorado State University breeders crossed this variety, and the result is a potato with bright violet skin and flesh and plants that are quite hearty and disease resistant. An early- to mid-season maturing variety, it is perfect for new potatoes and should be consumed fairly promptly, as the shelf life is not long! Our non-GMO, virus-free micro seed tubers are grown in a state-of-the-art tissue culture lab to provide the cleanest, highest-quality starter seed available. Sold in packs of 10, these tiny tubers grow into strong, healthy plants that produce excellent potato harvests. Start with clean seed, and you can save potatoes from your crop to replant and enjoy great harvests for years to come.
Growing Tips: For a high-yield Purple Majesty potato crop, plant in well-draining, loose soil with a slightly acidic pH (5.0-6.0). Maintain consistent moisture but avoid overwatering. Rotate crops yearly to prevent disease.

FAQ
Why are my Purple Majesty potatoes so small?
Small tubers often result from overcrowding, lack of nutrients, or insufficient hilling. Ensure proper spacing, fertilize regularly, and mound soil around stems to promote tuber development.
Can I grow Purple Majesty potatoes in containers?
Yes! Choose a deep container (10+ gallons) with good drainage. Use loose, rich soil and set the micro tubers about 1-2 inches deep - shallower than the 3-5 inches listed in the planting specs, because a micro tuber carries much smaller reserves - then hill soil around the stems as the plants grow to maximize yield.
Do Purple Majesty potatoes taste different from regular potatoes?
Yes! These potatoes have a rich, slightly nutty flavor with a creamy texture. Their deep purple flesh retains color when cooked, making for a visually striking dish.
What is the difference between micro tubers and regular seed potatoes?
They are grown in much the same way - don’t cut the micro tubers as you might with larger seed potatoes, and don’t plant them quite as deeply into the soil. Check out our blog post “Can’t Top These Tiny Taters” for more details!
