Watermelon Seeds,
Jubilee
Description
(Citrullus lanatus). An American classic that produces long, oval-shaped fruit with very sweet and crisp flesh of deep red. A popular old favorite. Large size. One of the all-time best tasting melons! This southern classic was developed in Leesburg, Florida, in the early 1960s.
Growing Tips: Jubilee watermelon performs best in full sun with rich, sandy, well-drained soil. Mulch to retain soil moisture and suppress weeds, and use drip irrigation to minimize disease risk. Provide ample space for its vigorous vines, and rotate crops yearly to prevent soilborne pathogens. Prune early vines to focus energy on fruit production.

Is Jubilee watermelon disease resistant?
Yes, Jubilee was bred for resistance to fusarium wilt and anthracnose, making it a reliable choice for regions prone to these common watermelon diseases, especially in humid climates.
Can Jubilee watermelon be grown in shorter seasons?
Jubilee needs a long, hot growing season to reach full maturity. In northern zones, start seeds indoors and consider using black plastic mulch to warm the soil and extend the season.
