80-90 days. Very large, 1 to 2-lb fruit is deep pink, very flavorful, and crack-resistant. The plants are very productive; the superb quality fruit is great for farmers’ markets or home gardens. Delicious.

What are the pros? Lots of clusters

What are the cons? None

Review:

I grew these last year trying to find the right variety to grow every year. 2019 was my last year trialing beefs and I am now won over by German Johnson. That will be my main crop every year for selling and eating. I was very impressed with the health of the plant and the production. Not sure what is the difference between the german johnson and german pink. But happpy with GJ.

What are the pros? Super easy to grow

What are the cons? None

Review:

This is my first year growing the German Johnson. I am utterly amazed. They grow and mature quickly, very few cracks, disease resistant and they are huge! Their disease resistance is great. I was tired of tomatoes that had no flavor and wanted good old fashioned tomatoes that tasted like an actual tomatoe. These are so delicious and taste like the ones I was raised on. Will always have them in my garden every year from now on.

What are the pros? Pretty typical beefsteak.

What are the cons? None.

Review:

As per larger beefsteak, potato leaf leaf varieties, German Pink germinated well, transplanted great and was slow to production. The absolute best tasting tomato ever! Has slowed down a bit but is environmental. Mornings too cool. However. This tomato will be in mygarden every year.

Review:

I grew this tomato in Alabama. The neighbors were surprised that a newbie could grow such a wonderful garden. The tomatoes are huge with hardly any seeds. We had to cut them in half to fit on a slice of bread. They have great flavor and hold up well. I am impressed with this tomato and will grow again.

What are the pros? Great taste, firm, balanced

What are the cons? Not a heavy producer

Review:

This is my favorite red heirloom by far, and probably my favorite heirloom tomato overall, as well. Superb flavor, and perfect texture; meaty, with few seeds. Grew it last year and had to grow it again this one. I think I'll always want these in my garden. My only complaint is that it's not a heavy producer, and my tomatoes have never been very big; but that could be due to my lackluster soil. Highly recommend!
