The Cape Cod weeder began showing up in seed catalogs in the early 1930s, but it was a regional New England favorite before that. In its 1949 catalog, Breck Seed Company noted that this "ingenious hand cultivator (was) originally created for use in the cranberry bogs of Cape Cod.” This tool is specially designed to root out weeds just below the soil surface. Baker Creek’s resident blacksmith, Bear Rademacher, has faithfully recreated this vintage design using the highest quality materials. Please note there is a left-handed and right-handed version of this tool. Choose the one that works for you.
