What are the cons? Not red inside
We had a wet year in Edmonton, AB (zone 3) and these still did very well. I started them inside in late March or April and they still produced good sized onions by the time we harvested in September (we also had an early fall).
The tops make pungent green onions and the bottoms I used in salsa and pasta sauce. It was my first attempt at growing onions, and I'd say it went well!
